Len Simich, CEO of SouthWest Transit and Kevin Wright, PGA Director of Operations for the 2016 Ryder Cup, will be the guest speakers at the August 23 Buy Chanhassen Meeting.
Though the 2016 Ryder Cup brings a great amount of excitement to our community, it also brings a bit of concern in terms of transportation and parking in the area. With over 50,000 guests attending the event every day, we hope that our business community benefits greatly from all the traffic. However, this tournament is much different from all the PGA Tournaments of the past. Due to security of this International Event, attendees will need to arrive at Hazeltine National Golf Club by bus.
SouthWest Transit will serve as the local bus service for the Ryder Cup, and is expecting a very busy week! With two stations in Chanhassen that will serve as drop off and pick up sites, there is growing concern that parking space in downtown Chanhassen may be compromised. SouthWest Transit would like to assure our local business owners and residents that they are taking every precaution they can to keep our lots and neighborhoods clear of “Ryder Cup” parking.
In an effort to reach out to our business partners, we invite all owners and operators in downtown Chanhassen to attend the Buy Chanhassen meeting on Tuesday, August 23 from 11:30am-1:00pm at the Chanhassen American Legion Club. You will hear first hand the transportation plan, and options for businesses to keep “parkers” out, and paying customers in! We hope to see you there!
