Since 1991, MORA has hosted an annual regional conference bringing together professionals and caregivers interested in learning the current best practices in developmental disability services. This exceptional event includes nationally known and regional experts discussing the challenges in our work and providing working solutions that will advance participants’ skills.
The conference is held in the spacious and comfortable training facilities of Mount Olivet Lutheran Church, West Campus, in Victoria, Minnesota.
Our goal is to provide a quality training experience, with direct access to leading experts in the field, at an affordable price
In recent years, efforts to increase community integration for people with developmental disabilities have led to more interactions between those with disabilities and emergency responders. Supporting the safety and stability of disabled individuals is important, and understanding how service partners and emergency responders can partner together is a key part of this.
This all day training will explore a number of today’s current topics in disability services concerning the interactions between first responders (including law enforcement) and persons with disabilities. We will explore strategies for bridging gaps between providers and emergency services in their communities.
Participants will gain a greater understanding of the important concepts in these sometimes controversial areas, and learn some best practices that can be applied across a variety of environments.
