28th Annual Fall Conference
November 1st, 2018
FEE: $110.00
In recent years, efforts to increase community integration for people with developmental disabilities have led to more interactions between those with disabilities and emergency responders. Supporting the safety and stability of disabled individuals is important, and understanding how service partners and emergency responders can partner together is a key part of this.
This all day training will explore a number of today’s current topics in disability services concerning the interactions between first responders (including law enforcement) and persons with disabilities. We will explore strategies for bridging gaps between providers and emergency services in their communities.
Participants will gain a greater understanding of the important concepts in these sometimes controversial areas, and learn some best practices that can be applied across a variety of environments.
