City of Chaska is currently looking for temporary positions for upcoming elections. We are currently seeking Election Judges, and Election COVID-19 cleaning staff for upcoming election on August 11th, and on November 3rd 2020.  For more information and to apply please go to and fill out the application for the position you are interested in or both applications if you don’t have a preference. This role will be paid at $10.00.


Temporary Election Judge:

Polling locations are staffed by citizens who are appointed as Election Judges. There will be a Primary Election on August 11, and the General Election falls on November 3. These are the dates for which this posting applies. In addition to working those days, Election Judge training (paid) is required prior to the Election Day you work. Training is expected to be held online in July.


Election Judges are responsible for the administration of election procedures in each precinct on each Election Day. Serving as an Election Judge is an opportunity to give back to the community. Full job description details are available on our website.  Election Judges will be paid a rate of $10.00 per hour.

Qualifications are as follows:

·       Must be at least 18 years of age or older

·       Eligible to vote in Minnesota

·       Able to read, write and speak English.

·       You cannot be a spouse, parent, child, or sibling of any election judge serving in the same precinct at the same time.

·       You cannot be a candidate or the spouse, parent, child or sibling of a candidate on the ballot in that precinct.  

·       All Election Judges are required to attend a state-mandated, two hour elections-training class during every even year. Applicants will receive notification of training session dates and times following receipt of a completed application.


Temporary Election COVID-19 Cleaning Staff:

This Temporary position performs cleaning and sanitizing, and assists maintaining safety for voters and staff throughout election day at their assigned facility. This positions will sanitize and wipe down doors, handles, bathrooms, voting booths, common areas, and more according to COVID-19 protocol. They will also be responsible with assisting with social distancing guidelines to community members.


Qualifications are as follows:

·       Age 16 years or older

·       Valid Driver license

·       Knowledge of basic cleaning methods and equipment

·       Safe and efficient use of cleaning compounds

·       Ability to read and interpret instructions

·       Able to work in and around the public

·       Self-directed and detailed oriented
