SUMMARY:Jonathan Montessori NEW All-Natural Playground Ribbon Cutting
DESCRIPTION:Jonathan Montessori Preschool & Kindergarten purchased the old church on the corner of Bavaria and Hundertmark Road in Chaska in 2012. After renovations to the building were completed\, the school designed their outdoor classrooms\, and now\, they have finally been able to focus on their natural playground. The JMS Backyard is now equipped with a stump-jump course\, ropes course\, music garden & labyrinth. \n \n\nWith 6.5 acres of natural landscape in the heart of Chaska\, the back yard renovations have been creating beautiful outdoor play space\, learning alcoves & exploration trails for the students to enjoy year-round. \n\nThe school had volunteer\, "Grandpa Pete"\, the grandfather of three students\, who came nearly every day for a year to help spruce up the backyard. Grants were given to JMS from Knife River & donations from local businesses helped to get the new play-scapes. All the mulch for the playground was given to JMS from the City of Chaska's Public Works Department. It's been a pleasure getting to know the community through this project.\n\n \n\nMontessori teaches children about creating good community\, and that's what the project has done for the school within the SouthWest Metro. \n\n\n\nIce cream social will follow the ribbon cutting!
