DESCRIPTION:Join us for the 4th annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Human Rights Celebration hosted by the Chaska Human Rights Commission.\n \n\nWhile we aren't able to hold this event in person this year\, we will premiere our virtual program on the Chaska Community Television YouTube channel (www.chaskamn.com/youtube) at 8:00 a.m.\n\n \n\nWe will have a chance to reflect on the work of Dr. Martin Luther King\, Jr. and discover ways we can embrace Dr. King's message and apply it to our lives and our community.\n\n \n\nThis year's program features a keynote address from Sharon Sayles Belton. Ms. Sayles Belton is the Vice President of Partnerships and Alliances for Thomson Reuters Government. From 1994 to 2001\, she served as the Mayor of Minneapolis. Ms. Sayles Belton was the first woman and African American to be elected as the Mayor of Minneapolis.\n\n \n\nThe Chaska Human Rights Commission will also recognize the winner of the 2020 Chaska Human Rights Award\, Lee Ann Winters.\n\n \n\nSpecial thanks to Eastern Carver County Schools\, the Chaska High School Speech Team\, La Academia\, Breakaway Academy\, the Arts Consortium of Carver County\, and community member Dont  Hughes for helping us make this virtual program a reality!
